How it works
True offset = sqrt(rise^2 + roll^2). Travel = true offset / sin(angle). Run = true offset / tan(angle).
Worked example
6 in rise and 8 in roll: true offset = sqrt(36 + 64) = 10 in; at 45 degrees, travel = 14.14 in.
When to use it
- A rolling offset moves both up/down and side to side between two fittings.
- Set the fitting angle to the elbows you plan to use.
